Introduction

National Training Centre for Special Persons (NTCSP) is imparting one year vocational, technical rehabilitation training to the adults persons with disabilities (all four categories) in different types of skills / trades.

Trades:      

  1. Technical:  Computer, Electrical,Machine Shop, Welding, Ref & AC, Photocopy & Bookbinding, Mobile Phone Repairing.
  1. Vocational;  Tailoring, , Canning, Bamboo Craft, Wood Craft, Arts & Craft,  Leather Craft, Music & Braille, Beautician.

RIGHT BASED SERVICES (UNCRPD)

Equality and Non-Discrimination

Both male and female are eligible to be enrolled in NTCSP and get their assessment done by the team of professionals without any discrimination. At class level both the genders are given proper attention and due course of time to equip themselves with certain training skills.

Women with Disabilities

Women with disabilities are encouraged to get admission according to their disability compatible trade for a period of three months, six months or more. After successful completion of training, they are guided and facilitated/supported in securing, retaining and advancing in employment as well. Considering the significance of potentials, the parents are provided with guidance & counselling to permit their female child for training and other opportunities. Bread earning skills are being provided inclusive of computer, tailoring, art and craft,  beautician, block printing and imitation jewellery making , etc for women with disabilities. Moreover, they are also facilitated via assistive aids for their rehabilitation and employment assistance.

Awareness Raising

Awareness raising is one the prime factors to enhance the canvas of disability discourse which is being practiced comprehensively by all the professionals of NTCSP.  This awareness raising is also being practiced amongst employers, civil societies, philanthropists, general public etc

Accessibility

Accessibility within the institution is being ensured for all the trainees with  disabilities. Personal mobility to all the trainees is being ensured through accessible class rooms, wash rooms, hostel and other premises of the centre/building.

Liberty and Security of the Persons

NTCSP is trying to provide all possible safe and secure environment for trainees both within the class and hostel. All the trainees have liberty to share their concerns regarding management.

Personal Mobility

NTCSP is providing assistive devices viz wheel chair, hearing aid, white canes and artificial limbs through various welfare agencies to make them independent in their personal mobility.

Health

NTCSP render basic health services through Medical Officer at institutional level whereas other hospitals are also on board for referral services to the trainees as per medical assistance required.

Habilitation & Rehabilitation

NTCSP look forward for meaningful inclusion of trainees to gain and maintain optimum liberty, full physical, mental, social and vocational ability in all spheres of life. Multidisciplinary assessment available for each person with disabilities considering their needs and strengths of both genders those belong to the age group of 15 to 27.

 Work and Employment

NTCSP is endeavoring to provide  a conducive environment for the realization of the full potential of persons with disabilities leading to their economic empowerment. NTECSP is committed to facilitate passed out trainees in open market either for waged employment and self employment.

Participation in Cultural Life, Recreation, Leisure and Sports Activities

Participation in cultural life, recreation, leisure and sports activities is one of the prime elements in the social development of trainees that is why such opportunities are being provided off and on. Moreover, sports training programs / camps to make them (trainees) to take part in local, national and International level sports competitions.
