National Library & Resource Centre organized an activity “AUTISM FRIENDLY ART” on 3rd September, 2024. Twenty-three (23) students from Confidence, Blue Angel and Success group of Autism Centre accompanied by their teachers attended the said activity. Mrs. Saima Rana, Deputy chief Librarian was the coordinator of the activity along with Mr. Kaleem Khalid, Lift Operator, Mr. Saqib Husain, Book Sorter and Mr. Nadeem Abbas, Naib Qasid. The aim of the activity is to provide a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment for children with autism and intellectual challenges to express themselves, build skills and have fun!

  • Lego play: Children explored, built and created using lego blocks, developing their fine motor skills, creativity and problem-solving abilities.
  • Carrom Board: This popular board game encouraged social interaction and strategic thinking, helping students developing focus and hand eye coordination.
  • Geometric Intelligence Learning Set: The set includes various shapes and patterns encouraging students to explore geometry in a hands on way, thereby enhancing their understanding of spatial relationships and abstract thinking.
  • Box of Fun: This inclusive set featured a range of activities, from puzzles to creative play  designed to stimulate the senses and imagination
  • Book reading: children enjoyed reading books.

 

      Children showed immense joy, enthusiasm and engagement during the activities. The autism friendly art activity provided a supportive and inclusive environment for children with autism and intellectually challenges to express themselves creatively and build social skills and develop fine motor skills.
