DGSE Starts New Training Year at NISE with Focus on Frontline Special Education Workers

Islamabad, July 24, 2025: The National Institute of Special Education (NISE), working under the control of Directorate General of Special Education (DGSE), successfully inaugurated its 2025–26 academic training calendar with a focused two day workshop titled “From Accessibility to Empathy: Building Skills of Supporting Staff.”

Held on July 23–24, the training was organized on the directive of Director General (Special Education), Captain Asif Iqbal Asif, and aimed at enhancing the professional capacity of supporting staff including drivers, attendants, and ayas working across DGSE run special education centres.

A total of 32 participants from various institutions took part in the interactive sessions, which emphasized key areas such as understanding disabilities, first aid, safe transport practices, and inclusive support strategies. The workshop was led by experienced trainers from NISE and partner organizations, incorporating live demonstrations and hands on activities to reinforce learning.

To ensure inclusivity and accessibility, the training materials were provided in easy to understand Urdu handouts, enabling participants to better grasp the concepts discussed.

The workshop concluded with a reflection session, where attendees shared their experiences and pledged to incorporate the new skills and knowledge into their daily responsibilities, reinforcing their commitment to supporting children with special needs more effectively.
