NM&ITC Conducts Training on Orientation, Mobility and White Cane Techniques at NTCSP
Islamabad, September 17, 2026: The National Mobility & Independence Training Centre (NM&ITC), Islamabad, conducted the first day of a two-day training course titled “Orientation, Mobility and White Cane Techniques for Persons with Visual Impairment” at the National Training Centre for Special Persons (NTCSP), Islamabad. The training aimed at developing safe, confident and independent mobility skills among persons with visual impairment. The first-day sessions focused on practical aspects of indoor and outdoor mobility, including upper-body and lower-body protective techniques, trailing techniques, and sighted-guide techniques. Participants received hands-on training and practical demonstrations to help them navigate different environments safely and independently. The training emphasized practical skills and techniques essential for enhancing the mobility, independence and confidence of persons with visual impairment.
